When it's -5 degrees, a snow storm is blazing outside and you have a photo shoot coming up.. what do you do? Well you use one of the beautiful buildings in Helsinki. This winter I've been scouting indoor shooting locations in Helsinki just in case it rains on a wedding day. So far I've found several beautiful places that are free to use and easy to access. Anu & Petri had a beautiful winter reseption in Juva with their closest friends and family. They originally didn't want to have their portraits taken.. but I convinced them to step outside for a few minutes and we took a few shots in the moon light. It was freezing cold so we stepped inside and took a few more with just the indoor lighting. I hope that they are now more comfortable having their pictures taken and I'll see them again in the summer for a proper session. Fingers

Today I got to shoot wedding portraits in Lapland, Ylläs. This has been my dream since I got into wedding photography, I was so looking forward to capturing amazing scenery with this couple.. but nature had something else stored for us. So we ended up having a photo shoot in snow fall the sun hidden behind a thick layer of clouds.. Finally I managed to find time to add this wedding to my portfolio. What can I say.. Taika and Jaakko are one of the kindest and warmest people I have ever met. Their wedding was so full of happiness and joy and love and love and love. I wish I could visit that wedding every weekend.
